Old Orchard Beach is not only an idyllic beach town full of fun things to do and see, but also the longest beach in Maine. This beach is 7 miles and is perfect for a stroll or walk with friends whether it be to Pine Point or to The Pier and beyond.
If you're looking for a quiet walk with the beach to yourself, your best bet is early morning where you'll get the best sightings of cool rocks and shells that wash up overnight, and sunset for unmatched views and an unmistakable sense of serenity.
Where To Stay
If you're looking to stay in the area, I recommend Ocean Walk (https://www.oceanwalkhotel.com/) and Alouette Beach Resort (https://www.alouettebeachresort.com/). Both are right on the beach, which means you could be soaking up the sun mere moments after waking up, and fall asleep to the calming crash of waves on the sand.
Where To Eat
Debatably the most important part of any day trip (or weekend trip) is the food. There are so many to choose from that no matter what you're looking for, you'll find it, but two favorites are The Shack and The Oceanside Grille. Maine is known for its seafood, and lobster in particular, and these restaurants don't disappoint. Both of these eateries are located on W Grand Ave right in the heart of Old Orchard, and right by the water.
